The Dallas Morning News is reporting that national radio host and TV personality David “Kidd” Kraddick, host of the Dallas-based syndicated radio show, Kidd Kraddick in the Morning, has died suddenly. He was only 53.
According to Clear Channel, Kraddick died Saturday in New Orleans at a golf tournament organized to raise money for his beloved Kidd’s Kids charity. “He died doing what he loved," the company said in a statement. "And his final day was spent selflessly focused on those special children that meant the world to him ... Kidd devoted his life to making people smile every morning, and for 21 years, his foundation has been dedicated to bringing joy to thousands of chronically and terminally ill children."
News of Kraddick's death quickly spread, as radio personalities and celebrities from across the country responded to the reports, which had been floating around unconfirmed since Saturday afternoon. Dr. Phil McGraw, Mark Cuban, Joe Jonas, Michelle Branch and Kelly Clarkson were among those who offered condolences via Twitter.
Kelly Kibler, Clear Channel’s Dallas manager, has confirmed the report.
