Just hours after confirming a world tour, Coldplay's new album is here.

Music of the Spheres arrived Friday, after months of teasing. The newly released record includes previously shared tracks such as "Higher Power" and the BTS-assisted "My Universe."

Ahead of the album's release, on Thursday, the band announced the Music Of The Spheres World Tour, which will kick off in March and feature openers H.E.R. and London Grammar, on select dates. The likelihood of a tour had been in question, as the band last toured in 2017 and frontman Chris Martin suggested in 2019 they wouldn't tour until it was "environmentally beneficial," noting the effects of large-scale arena performances and long, expansive tours on climate change.

In announcing the upcoming tour, Coldplay confirmed this next trek will reduce direct emissions by 50% compared to their 2016-2017 tour; shows will be powered entirely by renewable, super-low emission energy, with solar installations at every venue; and each stadium will feature a kinetic floor and kinetic bikes powered by fans.

Additionally, the band will provide venues with a "sustainability rider," the way many acts have a rider for amenities such as food and beverage. And fans will also be encouraged to utilize low-carbon transportation to and from shows, in exchange for discounts and rewards.

“Playing live and finding connection with people is ultimately why we exist as a band," said Coldplay in a statement. "We’ve been planning this tour for years, and we’re super excited to play songs from across our whole time together."

They continue: "At the same time, we’re very conscious that the planet is facing a climate crisis. So we’ve spent the last two years consulting with environmental experts to make this tour as sustainable as possible, and, just as importantly, to harness the tour’s potential to push things forward. We won’t get everything right, but we’re committed to doing everything we can and sharing what we learn."

It's worth noting, the tour dates announced so far are only preliminary, with more expected to be added in the coming weeks.
